South Africa research

SOUTH AFRICA'S national antham

Nkosi sikelel' iAfrika
Maluphakanyisw' uphondo lwayo,
Yizwa imithandazo yethu,
Nkosi sikelela, thina lusapho lwayo.

Morena boloka setjhaba sa heso,
O fedise dintwa le matshwenyeho,
O se boloke, O se boloke setjhaba sa heso,
Setjhaba sa South Afrika – South Afrika.

Uit die blou van onse hemel,
Uit die diepte van ons see,
Oor ons ewige gebergtes,
Waar die kranse antwoord gee,

Sounds the call to come together,
And united we shall stand,
Let us live and strive for freedom,
In South Africa our land.

Buffalo
Buffalo are extremely large, ox-like animals. Standing approximately 65 inches at the shoulder, adult males have a mass of up to 1760 pounds and females weigh up to 1650 pounds. To support the large body, the legs are very heavy. Front hooves are larger than the hind because of the extra mass

Elephant
The African Elephant is the largest living land mammal, one of the most impressive animals on earth. The Elephant's muscular trunk serves as a nose, hand, extra foot, signaling device and a tool for gathering food, siphoning water, dusting, digging and a variety of other functions. The long trunk permits

Leopard
The most secretive and elusive of the large carnivores, the leopard is also the shrewdest. Pound for pound, it is the strongest climber of the larger cats and is capable of killing prey far larger than itself. The coloring of the leopard varies from white to bright golden brown, spotted with black spots and rosettes.

Lion
Lions are the second largest members of the feline family in the world. Lion are tan in colour and have a slightly white under-body, with a tuft of black hair at the end of their tails. Most cat species live a fundamentally solitary existence, but the lion is an exception. It has developed a social system based on teamwork

Rino
The rhinoceros is a large, primitive looking mammal that in fact dates from the Miocene era millions of years ago. In recent decades rhinos have been relentlessly hunted to the point of near extinction. Since 1970 the world rhino population has declined by 90 percent, with five species remaining in the world today

The great white man eating shark

This is my ending for the great white man eating shark.

The plan is working Norvin said to himself as he snuck up on Mrs Scorpio Shark! Shark!
Mrs Scorpio screamed, she swam to the beach like she had a jet engine on her back. Norvin went to sneak up on Mr Foster but right then Mr Foster noticed the shark’s dorsal fin had dents
on it and he pulled Norvin out of the water. The next moment Norvin felt a slap on his face and then he threw him in the water and ran away. I wondered why he ran away but at that moment I figured out why he ran away. Shark Shark!

Thank you for reading my ending for the great white man eating shark

Man vs Wild part two

    Man vs wild Part two

I have slept through the night not that well, the river flooded and all my stuff went with it. I heard the river rising so I moved up to higher ground but I forgot my stuff so that means I have got no supplys. I carry on with my adventure. I’m amazed with all the stuff I’ve seen, Tarantulas and a wolf fish. Right Time for breakfast, what’s on the menu. Cricket pancakes, spider crumble and left over huhu grubs. I start to make my campfire to cook my breakfast but something moves in the bush it looks like something with a green thing on it. Hey is anyone here, oh thank goodness it’s someone of my own type. “Hi what’s your name?
“Steve” That’s a nice name “What’s your name? Johnny, where have you come from? I'm part of the search and rescue squad. Hurray!! I’m saved, but where is your helicopter. It’s hovering over there, lets head over there now. 30 minutes later. Are we nearly there? “yep it is hovering right over top of us”. Yay I’m saved I’m finally saved! “Pass down the rope ladder Let’s climb up, “ok” So where are we going now “Hawkes bay Woohoo I finally get to go to Hawkes bay.
“Watch out we're going down I repeat we are going down” CRASH!

London Olympic Opening Ceremony 2012

The London Olympic 2012 Opening Ceremony

Hello newspaper viewers, I am your news reporter for today on the 2012
Olympic opening ceremony.

In 2011 Danny Boyle had the idea to create the 2012 Olympic games opening ceremony. Many hours were put into the opening ceremony but he has made the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony successful, with 4 hours of entertainment. Last night the Olympic opening ceremony caught heaps of peoples eyes with beautiful colours and wonderful actors.

There were 7, 500 volunteers for the opening ceremony. Bradley Wiggins the tour De France winner rang the bell. The Olympic rings were dazzling
like diamonds. James Bond and Queen Elizabeth parachuted out of a helicopter. The Olympic torch has just entered the stadium and now has just lit the cauldron. Who is making the keyboard sound? It is Mr Bean, now he is trying to get a tishoo to blow his nose.

Here comes all of the countries. Here comes New Zealand. Nick Willis is holding the New Zealand flag, every one from NZ cheers. All of the other countries come out with their flag. fireworks come out from everywhere, the stadium lights up like it is day time. The giant rings join together and light up.

The opening ceremony has been so spectacular. All of the countries trying their best to earn a medal especially New Zealand. I can’t wait to see the closing ceremony, I hope it will be as catchy as the opening ceremony.

Thank you for reading my newspaper article about the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony.
