Lonely Ghost Storybird

Here is a Storybird that I created It is called the lonely ghost

Rock Hopping

WALT choose words that describe a moment (in an exciting way) for the reader.

YOUR SIGNS OF SUCCESS

• begins in the action
• present tense (I am, not I was)
• short, sharp sentences
• strong verbs
• uses the senses (look, feel, hear, taste, smell)
• language features (simile, alliteration, onomatopoeia, metaphor)
• show personality (sounds like you, humour, feelings, exaggeration)

Rock hopping

I jump. I land it. I slip. Ooch! I landed on my butt. I head over to another rock, then Mr M goes sprinting up beside me and then running up the triangular shape rock. He makes it. I take a run up, I get halfway up the rock then my footing comes loose. I slide down like a sled racing down a mountain. I try again but I slip before I even get up. I skip that rock and head onto the next rock. I climb successfully up a rock. I then jump off and land on another rock and slip up. I find a rock that has holes that looks like stairs in it. I climb it with ease. I get down on my bum and slide down the steep rock. I start to run because Liam called me, I try to figure out where the voice is coming from. 

I end up on a big grassy, mossy rock. I see a little twig and stick  hut. I crawl in through the entrance, Liam says “Sup Josh” and I reply “Sup Liam”. He hands me a stick and says “this is your weapon". He says "roll out" and then he runs out of the hut and throws his stick (Grenade) into the lake. Boom! (Splash) Target hit and he runs back into the hut and says “Take cover.” We hear Mr M calling us in and says have a biscuit and a piece of apple. Liam grabs a biscuit and says “I've got my salami slice (biscuit)". We stumble back to our cars, we are all exhausted. 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Pyjama Time

At Camp Kaitawa Henry, Liam, Samuel and I made a trailer called Pyjama time. We made it in the morning when we got up and woke everyone else up with the noise. Please leave a comment :)

Here is a timeline of the key events in my life so far.

Rock climbing

Today room 16 went rock climbing at Karamu High School with the year 12's
In my group we had Elijah, Dylan and I, our buddies were William and Gemma
Here is a reflection.

                Reflection for rock climbing

· Something I was pleased with was that I climbed up the wall in 23 seconds.

                           

· I really enjoyed learning how to climb a rock climbing wall

                 

…because I have never been rock climbing before.

· Something I found hard was gripping my hands on the small blocks.

· Something that made me think was what block to move my foot to.

                

…because I slipped when I put my foot on the wrong block

· Something I want to get better at is climbing the wall without slipping

         (What can I do about it?)

Cricket - Energy \ Beans

Crack! I hit the ball with all of my power, It roles to the boundary line. I  block a ball that seems to come down to me at 100KM per hour. My bat hits it with a crack, I look at the new chery on my bat.

I can just taste the victory salivating  on my tongue.  I get ready to face the 6th ball of the over, I get ready to crack the ball in half. I hit  the ball like a pro, it travels to the long boundary A fielder chasing after it, I ran 2 runs before it hits the boundary.  The 13 overs are up I head off for drinks break.

I  strode back onto the pitch ready to start the 14th over.  

I block the first ball. It rolls straight back to the bowler. He walks back to his marker for his run up. He runs in at full speed, I hit it to a fielder  He thinks it might be his chance to get me out the, good thing is that he dropped it.  

“Last over” the umpire shouts out. I get ready to bash the ball, I hit it, oh no it’s going to hit my other  batsman's foot I yell out “move out of the way” he quickly steps to the side and it speeds to the boundary. I have reached my thirty runs, I have to retire.

The rest of my team-mates make a cricket bat guard of honour for me to walk through. I hold my head high. My team congratulates me and gives me high fives.

Millau Viaduct

                Millau viaduct

Millau Viaduct is the most amazing bridge in the world. The Millau Viaduct is located in southern France. It was designed by a French bridge engineer Michel Virlogeux. He worked closely with British architect Norman Foster.

The bridge was 245 metres long and 2.5 KM. They built the bridge on a 3 percent slope to make the drivers feel more comfortable. At the highest point of the bridge is 343 that is 23 metres taller than the Eiffel Tower.

The bridge opened on the 14 December 2004. I the first year it carried 4,430,000 vehicles. Many more than it had been estimated. The bridge is guaranteed to remain in good condition for 120 years.

I’ve always been lucky

For Christmas 2013

When Santa gave me my

first cricket test ball.

It was so shiny and clean

that it would shine at

night and it had not been

dropped since I opened it that

night.

It is white with a light green

seme and it has gray, black

and silver words.

Each day I polish it

to keep it gleaming clean

I hope one day it will be

used to hit a 6.
